Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you ask for a 70% deposit upfront?

At Captain Eric Woodworks, we have heavy overhead costs at the manufacturing facility, and to provide the best customer experience in terms of quicker results and project delivery, we ask the customer to make a 70% initial deposit upon design agreement. Hence, this money is used to facilitate production of your custom furniture and cover the overheads costs incurred.

Captain Eric Woodworks production facility is strategically located at Kieganguru, near Chogoria, along Meru-Nairobi Highway but our interior designers and carpenters offer mobile and delivery services.

For customers outside Meru, we have a pick-up point at Tea Room, Nairobi CBD and Kamukunji, OTC.

For customers along Thika Road, we can arrange your delivery without necessarily taking your package to Nairobi town.

When you place your order, we agree on the design and during those discussions, we’ll advice you on the lead time for production and customization. Generally, for custom furniture products, it takes 3-7 business days, but may take longer depending on the project size.

Sure. We have specialists in customizing large projects such as school furniture. We weld using modern TIG or MIG flames for durable joinery but our projects are a bit pricy as we do not compromise on the quality of metal used.

we use both treated and processed wood and solid hardwood for furniture production. For interior furniture, we majorly use solid Camphor, Muringa, or exotic eucalyptus.

For table tops, we may use Processed marine boards, blockboards, with a layer of 2mm laminate, and hardwood reinforcement, or completely solid hardwood.

For dining chairs, we use solid Muringa hardwood timber for legs and general framing. On beds, we use a blend of process boards, plywood, and solid hardwood, depending on your selected design of choice.

We advice our customers accordingly on materials used to make each piece of your custom furniture project depending on the intended use. Talk to us to get started.
